HISTORY
What’s in a name…
The story behind our name is linked to our surname “Rocher”. It is French, meaning large rock, thus referencing the spectacular Mount Warning/Wollumbin that is a focal point of the view from the property.
It also refers to our hope and faith that stands on solid rock, our God, fortress and hope.
There is a direct correlation with the name, our distant French heritage and the local environment. The prefix: “La” is also the initials of Graham Rocher’s late wife Lauren Anne Rocher who was instrumental in the creation of La Rocher Eco Retreat.
